Join LaRissa Rogers on Deli Radio for a 45-minute conversation as she talks through her practice and the ideas driving her work. Through a selection of songs that have been important to her, LaRissa will share the experiences, reflections, and moments that have shaped her creative journey.
LaRissa Rogers’ practice combines aspects of personal memory and history to forefront the capaciousness of blackness shaped by the experience of diasporas as an Afro-Asian woman. Rogers was named to Forbes' 2024 "30 Under 30" in Art and Style. She has exhibited at Documenta 15, the Wattis Institute, and several other prominent venues, and unveiled “Going to Ground,” a public sculpture in Boston in 2024. Rogers has received fellowships from the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts and the Fine Arts Work Center, and has held residencies at the BEMIS Center, Skowhegan, and MASS MoCa. She holds an MFA from UCLA and a BFA from Virginia Commonwealth University. Rogers is an Assistant Professor and Head of Sculpture at the University of Virginia, represented by Super Dakota.
